These pages will house all of my lesson plans. I’ll let you know what I taught for grades 1, 2 and 3 of Middle School, and include any hand outs or materials. If you want to know if your books match up with mine, the books I am using have the following pictures on the covers: Grade 1 – Elephant, Grade 2 – Camel, Grade 3 – Kids playing soccer. CLASS 1: Introductions and beginning lessons – chapter 1.
CLASS 2: Continued with chapter 1 lessons for all grades. In class 1 and 3 played an entertaining game that took up the whole period, and in class 2 had the students work on recreating a dialogue.
CLASS 3: Grade 2: continued with Chapter 1 – played Guess Who game for entire period / Grade 1 & 3, moved on to Chapter 2 and did exercises relating to the chapter.
CLASS 4: Grade 1, Grade 3: continued lessons from the previous week / Grade 2: began Chapter 2 – Welcome to the Show.
CLASS 5: Taught a special birthday lesson in all grades. This wasn’t my most successfull lesson ever as it turned out to be a little too hard. Would be better suited to high school I think!
CLASS 6: Began Chapter 3 in all grades. All 3 lessons will be multi-part lessons carried out over the next few weeks. Grade 1 -Clubs, Grade 2 – Folktales, Grade 3 – Music.
CLASS 7: Continued previous lessons in all grades.
CLASS 8: Began Chapter 4 in all grades. Grade 1 – Pet Shop, Grade 2 – Energy, Grade 3 – Heroes
CLASS 9: Continued Chapter 4 lessons in all grades. Grade 1 – Pet Shop, Grade 2 – Energy, Grade 3 – Heroes
CLASS 10: Started Chapter 5 in all grades / Grade 1 – World of Robots / Grade 2 – Different Places, Different Houses / Grade 3 – Great Inventions
CLASS 11: Continued Chapter 5 in all grades / Grade 1 – World of Robots / Grade 2 – Different Places, Different Houses / Grade 3 – Great Inventions
CLASS 12: Started Chapter 6 in all grades / Grade 1 – Postcard from Santorini / Grade 2 – Traveling Far Away and Different Houses / Grade 3 – Dear Children of the Earth
CLASS 13: Grade 1: Conducted Speaking Tests and finished Postcard Lesson / Grade 2: Speaking tests all week / Grade 3: Review for Final exam.
CLASS 14: Grade 1: After finals we had a few random classes, and since my parents were in town we had class with them / Grade 2: Chapter 7: Enjoying Art / Grade 3 – Chapter 7: Global Advertising
CLASS 15: Entire lesson about summer vacations where the students work in pairs and groups to ask each questions about what they did. Same lesson in every grade.
CLASS 16: Grade 1: At the Traditional Market – Making Appointments / Grade 2: Chapter 7 – Enjoying Art / Grade 3: Caught up on Global advertising lesson from last week (refer to Class 14)
CLASS 17: Grade 1: At the Traditional Market – Would you like to… / Grade 2: Chapter 6 and 7 Review / Grade 3: Phone Conversations
CLASS 18: Grade 1: Chapter 8 Restaurant Lesson / Grade 2: Chapter 8 Living Together / Grade 3: Chapter 8 The World of Special Effects
CLASS 19: Since this week was Chuseok we had shortened classes and a shortened week. For every class we had a lesson comparing Chuseok to American Thanksgiving.
CLASS 20: The students had mid-terms this week, so I didn’t teach grade 1. Grade 2 and Grade 3 both had Jeopardy review classes.
CLASS 21: Started chapter 9 in all grades / Grade 1: Our Dreams / Grade 2: Korean Rice Cakes (Restaurants / Food) / Grade 3: King Alfred and the Cakes (Comic book / storytelling lesson)
